Description	:	Concussion and possible fracture of the skull at the base of the brain caused the death Sunday at 8:20 p.m. in Defiance hospital of Franklin Daniel Hockman, 76-year-old bachelor, who was injured Saturday evening when he fell down the basement stairs in the Clinton Street restaurant of John Clemens. It is thought he might have experienced a slight stroke to cause his fall. He had been in ill health due to a bad heart. It is thought he might have experienced a slight stroke to cause his fall. He had been in ill health due to a bad heart. During the last two years, Mr. Hockman had resided with his nephew, Thomas Rath, 805 West High St. The body has been removed to the Mansfield Funeral Home, Jefferson Avenue and Fifth Street. It will remain there until the funeral services on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. G. H. Heizer, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial will be made in St. John's Cemetery, Tiffin Township. Mr. Hockman was born in Tiffin Township on January 13, 1859, a son of the late Henry and Caroline Hockman. Before coming to the home of his nephew here, he had resided in Brunersberg, he previously had been in Tiffin and Noble townships. His occupation most of his life was as a foreman of bridge building gangs. When his brother, the late J.H. Hockman, was probate judge, he served as a deputy in that office for a time. He leaves only one half-sister, Mrs. Frank Acus, Lockland, Ohio.
