Description	:	F. H. Murdick, 62, a resident of Hansboro community for more than 25 years, died in a Devils Lake hospital Monday night after a short illness, death resulting from a paralytic stroke. Mr. Murdick lived with his daughter on a farm near Hansboro, Mrs. Murdick having died several years ago. Two other daughters also survive him. Funeral services were held at Hansboro church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Geo. B. Denison of Cando. Three beautiful and appropriate vocal selections were rendered by a mixed choir. Mr. Murdick lived with his daughter on a farm near Hansboro, Mrs. Murdick having died several years ago. Two other daughters also survive him. Funeral services were held at Hansboro church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Geo. B. Denison of Cando. Three beautiful and appropriate vocal selections were rendered by a mixed choir. The remains were taken to Devils Lake that afternoon and from there shipped to De Smet, S. Dak., his former home, where final interment was made. Undertaker Toomey of Devils Lake was in charge of the arrangements. Franklin Henry Murdick was born in Frankfort, Minnesota, September 25, 1862. He was the son of Solomon H. and Harriet Davison Murdick. The family moved overland to Kingsbury County, Dakota Territory in 1882 and there he was married to Ella Mae Donaldson on Christmas Day, 1883. His wife passed away some years ago. Four children were born to this union, one of whom, an only son, Lyle Francis, died several years ago. In the immediate family circle he is survived by 3 daughters, Viola Mary McDougall, wife of E. E. McDougall of Hansboro; Edna Harriet McAneney, wife of L. P. McAneney of Illinois; and Velma Mae Gordon, wife of Keith Gordon of Hansboro. Mr. Murdick moved to Cando, Towner County, North Dakota in 1902 and to Hansboro in 1905, which place has since been his home. Published in De Smet News August 30, 1929: "Frank Murdick Dies: Body Brot Here, Burial Friday Frank Murdick, a former resident of this vicinity, died suddenly at his home in Hansboro, N. D., and the body is expected to arrive at De Smet for burial Friday afternoon. Mr. Murdick passed away from heart trouble. His wife died a few years ago. There are three married daughters and other relatives surviving. The body is to be laid beside the wife's in Spirit Lake cemetery north of De Smet." Published in De Smet News October 11, 1929: "Frank Murdick Obituary Frank Henry Murdick was born in Columbus, Wis., Sept. 25, 1862, the son of Solomon H. and Harriet Murdick. He came to South Dakota in 1882 and in 1883 was united in marriage to Ella Mae Donaldson. To this union four children were born. In 1902 he moved to North Dakota and from 1905 until his death the family home was at Hansboro, N. D. He is survived by three daughters and a sister and by one brother, L. S. Murdick of Brooks, Oregon. The remains were brought to De Smet and burial made in the McCaskell cemetery in Spirit Lake township."
