She had been ailing for an extended time and gradually weakened due to complications and infirmities incident to old age. The deceased, so well known to everyone of these regions, was a lady of kindly nature, disposition and characteristics. She was one of the very early settlers of thie area, who came and suffered hardships and bore all burdens with fortitude for the sake of posterity and loved ones that followed. Mrs. Fannie Janecek first saw the light of day in Tabor, Kraj, Bohemia, on March 9th 1857. At the age of thirteen years, with her parents she emigrated to America and located on a farm near West Point. She was united in wedlock to Mr. John Janecek who preceded her in death in 1893. After the demise of her husband, Mrs. Janecek resided in Dodge while her children completed schooling. She moved back onto the farm until 1918 when she moved to San Antonio. She leaves daughters Marie Tobola of Niobrara, Christina Bernasek of Howells, and son Sam Janecek of Texas, and a brother F.V. Janecek. Three children preceded her in death, John, Ludwig and Raymond. The funeral was conducted on Tuesday with services by Rev. Filippi and interment Bohemian National Cemetery.
