Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Nodaway for Fred A. Shipley who died Friday at his home south of Nodaway. The Rev. H. P. Kishpaugh had charge of the services. The singing was by Mrs. Harold Everett, accompanied by Mrs. C. N. Kennedy and the pall bearers were Wade Burch, R. D. Simpson, H. Cooney, Elver Lacox, Charles Watts, and E. C. Kennedy, and the flower ladies were Mrs. Ray McCoy, Mrs. Will O'Riley, and Mrs. Lawrence Beck. Interment in the Nodaway Cemetery. Fred A. Shipley was born April 15, 1892 on the Shipley homestead south of Nodaway and he lived there and in that vicinity all his life. He was 53 years old at his death. He attended the Nodaway public schools, graduating there in 1910. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a member of the board of stewards at the time of his death. He was married January 23, 1915 to Alma A. Windom, and to them two daughters and three sons were born, all of whom with the wife and mother survive. The daughters are Margaret A. of Corning, and Mrs. Enid E. Shupe of Dunlap, Iowa. The sons are 1st Lt. Malcolm A. Shipley, Pvt. James A. Shipley, U. S. Marine Corps, now serving in North China, and Earl B. Shipley, a senior in Nodaway High School. There are also two grandchildren, Sue and Ann Shupe of Dunlap, a sister, Mrs. Mary Wallace, and two brothers, C. W. and H. D. Shipley of Nodaway. Adams County Free Press, December 27, 1945, page 9
