Description	:	Superior, Feb. 27. - Fred Norwood, forty, a foreman at the Nebraska Cement company plant here, who was severely burned late Thursday, died of his injuries at Superior today. He was cleaning up scattered coal in the coal crushing room when by some unknown cause, the dust is thought to have ignited. He rushed outside, where his clothing at once burst into flames. Bob Davenport and a Mexican helper were badly burned in rolling Norwood on the ground to smother the flames. No fire damage resulted to the crushing room of the plant. Other employes (sic) stated... He leaves a wife and six children and had been in the employment of the company for about six years. ----- Freddie C. Norwood was born at Nelson, March 13th, 1882, and died at Superior, February 27th, 1925, at the age of 42 years, 11 months, 14 days. Mr. Norwood has lived practically all his life in this vicinity. He was united in marriage to Emma Bartlett March 3, 1908. To this union were born six children, all of whom are living: Opal, Pearl, Fern, Ray, June and Virgil. Mr. Norwood united with the Christian church eleven years ago and has been a faithful member since. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife and six children, three brothers: William of Nelson, Charles of Pascagould, Mississippi; and Isaac of Pittsburg; and one sister, Anna Smith of Los Angeles, Calif. The funeral services were held at the Christian church in Nelson, W.R. Arnold, the pastor, preaching the sermon. An abundant floral display bore testimony to the sympathy shared by the entire community. While a home will have a vacant chair, the loss to the community and home both is inestimable.
