She passed away on August 22, 2002 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebr., at the age of 90 years, 10 months and nine days. She passed away on August 22, 2002 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebr., at the age of 90 years, 10 months and nine days. Pearl attended schools that (sic) Cadams, Nelson and Superior. On October 19, 1924 at Belleville, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Boyd Brown. They were blessed with two daughters, Helen and Darlene. Pearl loved gardening, flowers and spent many hours taking care of them. She also liked to cook. At one time they owned a restaurant in Guide Rock, Nebr. She later was employed at Armour's in Superior. Her grandchildren were an especially important area of her life. In 1999 she made her home at the Superior Good Samaritan Center until her death. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the American Baptist Women, and the First Baptist Church all of Superior. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Boyd on December 14, 1968, one sister, Opal Soper and two brothers, Ray and Carl Norwood. Survivors include her daughter's Helen Hart and husband Louis of Berthoud, Colorado, and Darlene Thompson and husband William of Jewell, Kansas; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Norwood and wife Irene of Salina, Kansas, and sisters June Persinger and Fern Beckius, both of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 25th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebr. with Pastor Leslie Warner officiating. Music was "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," with Carol Shambaugh as soloist and Carlita Price as organist. Pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Aaron Turner, Timmy Hart, Greg Hart, Jeff Champlin, Jace Champlin and Eugene Spellman. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska. Memorials may be sent to Superior Good Samaritan Center or the First Baptist Church. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebr. was in charge of the arrangements.
