OBITUARY Mr. Fred Christian Kuhlmann Mr. Fred Christian Kuhlmann was born September 24, 1878, in Champaign county (sic), Illinois, as a twin son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chr. Kuhlmann. This twin brother lived only six months. He was baptized in the Lutheran church as an infant. After being instructed in the Lutheran faith, he was confirmed at the age of fourteen years, in Danville, Ill. On February 22, 1899, at the age of 21 years, he came to Nebraska, where he spent the rest of his life. March 5, 1906, he entered into matrimony with Miss Anna Dorothy Bostelmann. To this union were born three children, Leora (Mrs. Henry Heidbrink), Virgil and Victor. For a number of years Mr. Kuhlmann had been ailing from some unexplained disease or complication of diseases. On July 2, he was brought to the University hospital (sic) in Omaha for close observation and treatment. He died at noon on July 17, 1936, at the age of 57 years, 10 months and 23 days. He is survived by his widow, Anna, three children, Leora, Virgil and Victor; one son-in-law, Henry Heidbrink, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Virgil Kuhlmann, two grandchildren. His aged mother, Mrs. Minnie Kuhlmann, three sisters, Mrs. Albert Massmann, of Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Wm. Zenke, of Broadlands, Ill., and Ida Kuhlmann, of Chester; and five brothers, Arthur, Edgar, Chris, Lewis and Walter, all of Chester, also survive. In the funeral services held in St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester, on Sunday morning, the Rev. O.W. Juengel addressed words of comfort and hope, basing his remarks on words of the 16th Psalm. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery 1 1-2 miles east of Chester.
