Description	:	Fred F. Taylor, 76, of Minden, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island. Fred was born on March 29, 1919, in Minden, to Orien "Hod" and Martha (Brothe) Taylor. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1937. Read More	Fred F. Taylor, 76, of Minden, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island. Fred was born on March 29, 1919, in Minden, to Orien "Hod" and Martha (Brothe) Taylor. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1937. On June 26, 1939, he married Jennie Holl in Smith Center, Kan., and they lived and worked in Minden. During World War II Fred served in the U.S. Army in England, Belgium and France and was presented a Purple Heart. After World War II he worked as a mechanic for Bauer Motors for many years and later for Big John's Ford until his retirement in 1984. Jennie died in 1990. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden. He enjoyed fishing and spent many hours on the Republican River fishing for catfish. He and Jennie enjoyed traveling, especially in the southwest part of the United States. He will be missed by many friends and his family. Survivors include his son, 2 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and a sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son and one brother. Funeral services were Dec. 9, at the United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Bill Jardine officiating. Marshall Christensen was the soloist and Glen Haselbarth provided the organ music. Charles Wing, Maurice Filbin, John Saathoff, Arlynn Meyer, Ed Sheen and Kim Carver were casket bearers. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery. Minden Courier December 12, 1995 Page 10B, Column 5 & 6
