OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) Fred (Fritz) Bahler, 74, died at 12:40 Tuesday afternoon in his home at 773 North East street after an illness of several years. He was a retired employee of the New York Central railroad and the Wabash Cabinet factory. He was a life member of St. Matthew's Evangelical and Reformed church, and a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for 45 years. He was also a Spanish-American war veteran, a member of the Macy Overly camp and a charter member of the V.F.W. Born Switzerland on Aug. 10, 1877, he came to the United States when he was five years old. On June 17, 1903 he was married in Wabash to Martha Hausmaun who survives. also surviving are four sons, Armin and Arnold Bahler, both of Wabash, Walter, Tulsa, Okla., and Paul, Hayworth, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Earnest Scheerer, Wabash, and Mrs. Otto Hipskind, Auburn; a brother, John Bahler, Anderson, In., and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Wire funeral home with the Rev. J.L. Koert officiating. Burial will be in Falls cemetery.
