Description	:	Stratford Courier November 21, 1907 Fred Quist, who has been ailing for several months, passed away at his home Sunday evening. The funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon at the residence, conducted by Rev. O.R. Palm and the remains were interred in the Olson cemetery. A complete obituary will be published next week. Stratford Courier November 28, 1907 Obituary Quist Fred Quist died at his home near Stratford, Sunday night at half past 12 o'clock, November 19, 1907. He was born near Squaw Creek, 8 miles from Stratford, January 2, 1878. He has resided with his parents in the vicinity of Stratford for 17 years. He was taken sick in February and since then has been a patient sufferer. He leaves to mourn his loss a father and mother, five sisters and one brother. They were all present at his funeral. Fred was a good boy, quiet and reserved in his manners and very industrious. He took delight in farming and raising stock and in making those in the home comfortable and happy. He had no bad habits, and was respected by all who knew him. He was conscious to the last, calling his relatives and friends around him, he bade them all goodbye, saying "meet me in Heaven." We must be submissive to the Divine will, knowing that the God who gave the life has taken it away and will give those who mourn his death strength to bear their affliction knowing that he who has suffered so much and with so much patience can suffer no more. Death enters and there's no defense. His time, there is none can tell, kind friends, and loving hands could not hold him back. It is sad that one we cherished Should be taken from our home But the joys that do no perish Live in memory alone. All the years we've spent together, All the happy golden hours, Shall be cherished in remembrance Fragrant sweets from memories flower. Call not back the dear departed, Anchored safe where storms are o'er. On the borderland we left him, Soon to meet and part no more. When we leave this world of changes, When we leave this world of care, We shall find our missing loved one, In our Father's mansion fair. Tis hard to break the tender cord When love has found the heart, Tis hard, so hard, to speak the words, "We must forever part." Dearest loved one we must lay thee In the peaceful grave's embrace. But the memory will be cherished Til we see they heavenly face.
