CASE died April 16 at his home in Council Bluffs after several weeks illness. Death was due to brain abscess. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Broadway church in Council Bluffs of which he was pastor, in charge of George D. Cressman and Bishop F. T. Keeney. CASE was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander CASE and was born in Cherryfield, Maine, January 17, 1874. He came west when a small boy and settled in Kansas. He received his education in the colleges of New York state and Kansas. On July 18, 1899 he was united in marriage to Cora J. BALL of this city. They moved to Dakota where they made their home for eight years and then returned to Iowa. Dr. CASE has been pastor the last few years at Esthervile, Iowa, Rochester, Minn., Minneapolis, Janesville, Wis., and in November had moved to Council Bluffs where he accepted the pastorship of the Broadway church. He is survived by his wife and two daughters Pauline and Louise, also his aged father, Alexander, and one brother and two sisters of Chewelah, Wisconsin (sic. should be Chewelah, Washington state). -------- Note: Dr. CASE was first buried in the Fairfield Abbey mausoleum, which was on the south side of what is now Evergreen cemetery 5th/6th additions. During the 1960's and 1970's the Fairfield Abbey was closed due to structural problems and those buried there were relocated. Dr. CASE and his wife Cora Jane BALL CASE were reburied into Evergreen cemetery in Old.P.384 on July 31, 1962.
