Willie, pastor in charge of the services. Born in Mecklenburg, Germany, Sept 29, 1848, Mr. Krei came to America 69 years ago and has since lived near Laurel for half a century. At the time of his death he was living in Laurel, a retired farmer. Mr. Krie had been ill but a short time, althought in advanced years. His death was not altogether unexpected, a shock, none the less to his many friends and relatives in this community. Frerick William Krie was born in Mecklenburg, Germany September 29, 1848. He died at his home in Laurel, December 4, 1940 at 10 a.m. He came to America in 1871 locating at Guttenburg, Iowa. He was married to Anna Haack in Wayne county for more than 40 years. He lived a few years at Norfolk, where his wife died on January 27, 1920 on their wedding anniversary. He later moved to Laurel and made his home with his daughter, Mary Monk. He leaves to mourn seven children, two preceding him in death in infancy, twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews. His children are: Mrs. Mary Monk of Laurel, Fred Krie of Red Wing, Minn., Mrs. Anna Wagner of Laurel, Otto Krie of Laurel, John Krie of Wood Lake, Nebr., William of Laurel, Mrs. Mable Inglehart of Edmund, Wash. His wife preceeded him in death several years ago. Survivors are: Mrs. William Wagner, Mrs. Mary Monk, Otto and William Krie, all of Laurel; John of Wood Lake Nebr., and Fred of Minnestoa together with several grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Out of town people attending the funeral were Mrs. Mable Inglehart of Edmond, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. John Krie and Mrs. and Mrs. Raymond Loeb of Wood Lake, Minn. Will and Fred Gravie of Hartford, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stapleman of Belden, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Walters of Wakefield, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walters of Wakefield, Mr. and Mrs. John Krie of Sholes and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Pippit of Wayne. The bereaved relatives will have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in the loss of this fine father and friend.
