Brott, son of John H. and Mary Ann Brott, was born October 2, 1862, in Foulton County, Illinois. He passed away at his home in Glasco on Thursday evening, January 5, 1956, at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 2 days. While still a boy, Mr. Brott moved with his parents to Nebraska, and several years later in 1892, the family moved to Concordia, Kansas. He was a member of the United Brethren Church of Concordia. On January 23, 1895, he was united in marriage with Clara Birdsall at Concordia. They made their home in Concordia until 1906 when they came to Glasco. Mr. Brott was a retired farmer. He was a kind and loving father and husband. Into their home three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Clista Gray, of Superior, Nebraska, Rufus Brott of Beloit, Kansas, and Lester Brott of Glasco, Kansas. Mr. Brott was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors, in addition to his wife and his three children include 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and nieces, as well as many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, 1956, at 2:00 o'clock p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Glasco, with Rev. John Baker, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Pallbearers were Allen Thomas, Mason Thomas, Jr., Charles Studt, Edward Brown, Earl Teasley, and Lester Premer. Interment was in Glasco cemetery.
