Collins, April 21 – Lincoln Tiffany, 75, pioneer resident of Clear Creek township, Jasper county, just southeast of Collins, died at 6:30 Monday evening at his home on the farm where he was born. Death followed a brief illness after an attack of the flu and was unexpected. News of the passing of this respected pioneer came as a distinct shock to the community in which he had passed his entire life. Funeral rites will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at Ashton chapel, where he had worshiped during his entire lifetime and interment will be in the family burying plot nearby. Lincoln Tiffany was born August 18, 1861, on the farm where he had lived nearly his entire lifetime and where he died. He was a son of Sylvester and Emma Tiffany, Clear Creek township pioneers. He married to Miss Ella Stock of the same neighborhood about 54 years ago and to them five children were born. One daughter, Emma, died in 1907 and the wife passed away two years ago. He leaves his daughter, Clara, at home and sons Ray and Joe at Collins and Carl of Colfax. There are also 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. ***************************************************************************************************** AMES DAILY TRIBUNE AND TIMES, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, April 22, 1936. TIFFANY, PIONEER COLLINS MAN, DIES COLLINS—Lincoln Tiffany, 75, a pioneer resident of Clear Creek township, Jasper county, died at his home southeast of Collins Monday evening. Death followed a brief illness after an attack of the flu and was very unexpected. Mr. Tiffany died on the farm on which he was born. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p. m. at the Ashton chapel where Mr. Tiffany had worshiped during his entire life. The burial will be on the family burying plot nearby. Lincoln Tiffany was born August 18, 1861, a son of Sylvester and Emma Tiffany, Clear Creek township pioneers. In 1882 he married Miss Ella Stock of the same neighborhood. One of their five children, Emma, died in 1907. Mrs. Tiffany died in 1934. Those surviving are one daughter, Clara, at home, and three sons, Ray and Joe of Collins and Carl of Colfax.
