The Baxter Funeral Home in Baxter is in charge of funeral arrangements. *********************************************************************************** Nevada Journal, Monday, March 25, 1963, page 1, column 3 – Heart Attack Is Fatal for Collins Resident Saturday – Joseph Sylvester Tiffany, 66, resident of Collins community, died Saturday, March 23 in the Story County Hospital, Nevada, after a heart attack. Tiffany was born January 25, 1897 to Lincoln and Ella Tiffany near Clear Creek Township, Jasper County. He attended rural schools in that area. He married Minnie Kaldenberg on January 30, 1918, and they lived in northwest Jasper County and southeast Story County and farmed near Collins. In 1943 they moved to Collins community and Tiffany became an insurance agent. He had been in failing health the past year. Survivors include his wife, five sons; Arthur of Mingo; Alvin of Maxwell; Henry of Ames; John of Collins and George of Wheaton, Ill. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Johannan) Hudson of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother; Ray of Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in the E. U. B. Church in Collins with the Rev. F. A. Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Tuesday. *********************************************************************************** Nevada Journal, Wednesday, March 27, 1963, page 4, column 6, - Joseph Tiffany, 66, Services Held in Collins March 26 – Services for Joseph Sylvester Tiffany, 66, Collins resident who died in the Story County Hospital Saturday, March 23 were held Tuesday, March 26 in the E. U. B. Church in Collins with the Rev. F. A. Richardson officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons; Paul, David, Keith, Gary, John and Ronnie Tiffany. Music was furnished by a duet of Milton Hale and William Cochran, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Stone. Burial was in the Ashton Chapel Cemetery.
