Description	:	Friedrich Henrich August Moritz was born June 7, 1833 in Mark Bronbork, near the village of Wildino by Frieburg, Germany. He was married to Miss Wilhelmina Zable in 1861and about 1868 with he and three children emigrated to America, coming directly to Nebraska and settling on a Nemaha county farm. Later he moved to the home place west of Stella in the county, where he died Monday afternoon July 28, 1902; age 69 years, 1 month and 22 days. Read More	Friedrich Henrich August Moritz was born June 7, 1833 in Mark Bronbork, near the village of Wildino by Frieburg, Germany. He was married to Miss Wilhelmina Zable in 1861and about 1868 with he and three children emigrated to America, coming directly to Nebraska and settling on a Nemaha county farm. Later he moved to the home place west of Stella in the county, where he died Monday afternoon July 28, 1902; age 69 years, 1 month and 22 days. Mr. Moritz was an industrious, thrifty and prosperous farmer, a man who attended strictly to his own affairs. Coming to this state in an early day, he was one of the pioneers who helped to make the west habitable. He had been sick about ten weeks and from the beginning of his illness little hope was entertained for his recovery, although all that medical skill or loving hands could do was done. The deceased was confirmed at the age of fourteen years. He joined the English Lutheran church in Stella in January, 1885. He lived faithful to his church and in the Moritz home the church services and holy days have ever been observed. Beside his wife and seven grandchildren, nine children, all being present at the funeral, survive him – five daughters, Mrs. Hulda Burow of Elk Creek, Mrs. Augusta Wiltse of Verdon, Mrs. Ida Schick, Mrs. Anna Anderson and Miss Luella Moritz of this place; and four sons, Gustav, Amel, Max and Henry, living near here. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Chas. Schultz, was held in the Stella Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, after which the burial took place in the Stella cemetery. A large crowd was present at both services, his German friends coming for miles to pay their last respects to one who was held high in their esteem. Among those present from a distance were a brother and his wife from Franklin county, Nebraska, a sister from Smith county, Kansas; John Ottersburg and wife of Johnson; and John Young and wife of Dawson.
