Pallbearers were Roger Butt, Rich Person, Dale Carlson, Wayne Kanter, Robert Kanter and Michael Reeves. Honorary pallbearers were Dale King, Jim Clarke, Clark Caley, Oren Hoback, John Jefferson and Francis McConnell. Mr. Butt died Friday, at his home. He was born August 31, 1902 in Saline County to August and Augusta (Burkhart) Butt. They moved to the Merrick County area in 1909, where he received his schooling. He married Susanna Doncheski in Grand Island [NE] October 1, 1923. They farmed in the Central City area for many years, and Mr. Butt also sold Pioneer seed corn for over 35 years. Mr. Butt was a member of the First Christian Church in Central City. Survivors include his wife, Susie of Central City; a son Adolph of Central City; three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Kanter of Palmer [NE], Mrs. Illa Jean Scherer of Loveland CO and Mrs. Dorothy Irwin of Hordville [NE]; two brothers, Helmet and Fritz, both of Central City; a sister, Hannah Butt of Palmer; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, a grandson, two great granddaughters, three sisters and three brothers.
