Description	:	Gary Lee Kane, age 50, passed away at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames on Sunday, June 8, 2014. His parents were John and Leah Kane of Boone. Gary was born March 14, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1982. After high school, he attended Boone DMACC, Iowa State University, and Airline School in Des Moines. For the last eight years, he worked for Wells Fargo in the mortgage department. Read More	Gary Lee Kane, age 50, passed away at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames on Sunday, June 8, 2014. His parents were John and Leah Kane of Boone. Gary was born March 14, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1982. After high school, he attended Boone DMACC, Iowa State University, and Airline School in Des Moines. For the last eight years, he worked for Wells Fargo in the mortgage department. Through his work, he was able to give some time to Special Olympics. He played the piano and the organ and enjoyed playing in several churches in the area. He will be remembered as a friendly face at the Boone County booth at the Iowa State Fair where he enjoyed being a volunteer for several years. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Bertha Kane and Earnest and Lulu Cook. Also his beloved aunt, Cheryl Kane and uncles and aunts, Richard and Ann Hall and Dale and Janiece Kane. Those who survive include his parents, John and Leah Kane, his sister Dana, his brother-in-law Dennis Marchant, his nephew Mason Marchant, and nieces Madison and Melanie Marchant. He is also survived by his birth mother Margo Gates and half brother Andy Gates, and many cousins here and in Sweden. I
