GEORGE BEYER George Beyer was born July 20, 1890, at Morton, Illinois, the son of Frank and Lena Zobrist Beyer, and died October 13, 1978, at the age of 88 years, two months and 21 days. His father, and uncles operated an electric plant, in that city, in which George helped. George moved to Sabetha in 1911 where he took a job in the Sabetha electric plant. GEORGE BEYER George Beyer was born July 20, 1890, at Morton, Illinois, the son of Frank and Lena Zobrist Beyer, and died October 13, 1978, at the age of 88 years, two months and 21 days. His father, and uncles operated an electric plant, in that city, in which George helped. George moved to Sabetha in 1911 where he took a job in the Sabetha electric plant. George continued to serve the City of Sabetha until his retirement in 1955. In 1913 he married Ethel Simpson. To this union were born two sons, James and Herbert. Ethel passed away in 1941. In 1942 he married Abigail McClellan of Peoria, Ill. Abigail died in 1949. In 1950, George married Lulu Slade of Sabetha. George was a member of the Sabetha Masonic Lodge #162 A. F. & A. M. for some 50 years, where his presence was greatly appreciated. He is survived by his wife, Lulu; two sisters, Fanny and Elizabeth; his two sons, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were held Monday October 16, 1978, at 10 a.m. in the Popkess Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Harold Goldmann officiated. Virginia Marr organist, played selected hymns. Masonic Chapel Service was conducted by the Sabetha Lodge #162 A. F. & A. M., led by Glen Jenkins. Burial was in the family plot in the Sabetha Cemetery.
