REILLY: Culminating an illness of some twelve weeks duration, almost seven of which were spent in St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph, the death occurred at his home, Gear Street, Grand Valley, in the early hours of Monday morning of this week, of Mr. George C. Reilly. His illness and intense suffering of the past few weeks were borne with great fortitude and he was never heard to utter a complaint. The late Mr. Reilly was a son of the late Geroge and Martha (Parker) Reilly, of Toronto. He was born in Erin Township on 1864 and when only ten years of age came with his parents to East Luther Township and settled on Lot 31, Con. 9, the farm now occupied by Mr. John Nodwell. Mr. Reilly was twice married, his first wife being Esther Anne Ritchie, of Amaranth Township. After his marriage he took up farming on his own, and settled on the farm now occupied by Mr. Thomas Townsend. His wife passed away in April, 1907, and in July, 1908, he married Ida Celesta Cawthra, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Cawthra. In 1912 they moved to Tarbert, where they resided until they retired and moved into Grand Valley in November of 1925. During his residence here the deceased made a large number of friends and he was universally respected, and these, along with a large number of friends in the immediate district, regret to learn of his demise. Besides his widow, he is survived by a family of six children by the first marriage, and one daughter by the second marriage, as follows: Wesley Reilly, East Luther; Ed Reilly, Rochester, N.Y.; Elgin Reilly, East Luther; Mrs. Ernest Horsley and Mrs. Alex. Snider, Shelburne; Mrs. Wm. Fairbairn, Toronto, and Miss Nora Reilly, as home. He leaves also seven brothers and two sisters, John Reilly and Wm. Reilly, of Amaranth; Albert Reilly, East Luther; Andrew Reilly, V.S., Minburn, Alta.; James Reilly, Sault Ste Marie; Norman Reilly, East Luther; Ed. Ereilly, Stettler, Alta.; Mrs. John Gully, of Edmonton, Alta., and Mrs. L. Sinclair, Grand Valley. Among the floral offerings at the funeral were: Pillow, wife and family; broken circle, brothers and sisters; spray, Knoc Church; spray, nieces from Toronto. The funeral is arranged to take place on Wednesday afternoon of this week, with interment in Grand Valley Union Cemetery. Service will be held in Knox Presbyterian Church at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of the pastor, Rev. R. C. Graeb. To the bereaved family, The Star and Vidette joins in sincere sympathy on their sad bereavement.
