LAUCHLAIN SINCLAIR: A well known resident of East Luther Township passed away at her home on Ponsford St., Grand Valley, on Thursday, June 9, 1949, in the person of Sarah Bell Reilly, beloved wife of Lauchlain Sinclair. Her death came after a lengthy illness, during which she was was cheerful and uncomplaining. Mrs. Sinclair was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Reilly and was born in East Luther Township, in 1878. On February 26, 1913, she was united in marriage to Lauchlain Sinclair and since then they have always lived in and around Grand Valley. She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her husband, three daughters - Mrs. Frank Scott (Flora), Humber Summitt; Mrs. H. Lapp (Jean), and Mrs. J. Ritchie (Marie), both of Toronto. A daughters, Margaret, predeceased her in 1925, as well as one sister, and five brothers. Three brothers - James, of Sault Ste. Marie; Edward, Stettler, and Norman, East Luther Township, survive. She also leaves four grandchildren. The floral tributes were ery beautiful, and included: Gate ajar and pillow corsage, husband and family; wreaths - Grandchildren; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Reilly and Mrs. Albert Reilly; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Topper; sprays - Mr. and Mrs. Royce Reilly and Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Reilley; Mr. and Mrs. Wes. Reilly and Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Wells; Mr. and Mrs. E. Horsley and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Reilly; Neighbors; Ryan and Dunbar families; Mr. and Mrs. A. Brocklebank; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Deaken and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Martin; Mr. and Mrs. W. Mottart and Carollee; Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Reilly and boys; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Reilly; Mrs. Mary Sinclair and family; Mr. Miles Reilly; Mr. John Inch and Mr. Jack Tuck; Mr. Carl Austin. These were carried by June and Orville Hills, Mrs. Raymond Reid, Mrs. Freeman Wells, Ronald Fairbairn, Earl, Royce, Clifford, Harold and Kenneth Reilly. A private service, conducted by Mr. Charleton, was held at the home, Saturday, June 11, followed by a service in the Church of Christ, conducted by her pastor Mr. Knowles. One of the deceased's favorite hymns, "Saved By Grace" was sung and the Male Quartette from Hillsburgh Church of Christ rendered two beautiful numbers. The interment took place in the Union Cemetery, Grand Valley. The pallbearers being six nephews: Elmer, Wesley and Robert Reilly, Mert O'Reilly, Jack Hills and Howard Sinclair. Friends present from a distance were from Toront, Guelph, Waterloo, St. Catharines, Erin, Hillsburgh, Moorefield, Shelburne, Saskatoon, South River, Orangeville and Humber Summit.
