William Kaufmann followed by burial in the church cemetery. ~~~~~~~ Columbia Union Visitor, June 2, 1955, vol. 60, no. 22, page 7 DAVIS, George Christopher, was born in Shelltown, Md., on April 5, 1867, and died Sabbath afternoon. April 2, 1955, at Kilmarnock, Va., where he had made his home for more than thirty years. In 1909 he was married to Eva Marshall. They were blessed with two children; Edith Davis Gould and John Chris Davis, who survive with three grandchildren: Donald Lee Gould, Laverne Gould Carlson, and Cathy Lou Davis; four great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He and his wife were baptized into the remnant church in 1921 and remained faithful. Services were conducted in the church by the writer, assisted by Elder William Coffman, pastor of the Richmond Church, whose wife is one of his many cousins. He was laid to rest in the cemetery behind the church to await the resurrection. - C. L. White
