He lay in an unconscious condition until Tuesday morning, when he passed away. Mr. Cochran was born in Jefferson county, O., January 7, 1827, and grew to maturity there. He came to this county in 1841, located in Round Prairie township, and resided there until 1875, when he removed to a farm in Buchanan township. The remainder of his life was spent there and in this city. He was married to Elizabeth J. Lynch December 16th, 1849. They were the parents of six children, four of whom are yet living - Mrs. James H. Allender, Mrs. Warren E. Chandler, Charles C. and Ulysses S.G. Cochran, all of this county. During the earlier years of his life Mr. Cochran was a man of much energy and great industry. He took an active interest in public affairs and was honored by his fellows with many positions of trust and honor. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for almost half a century and he lived strictly according to its teachings as he saw them. He was a man of utmost honesty and strictest integrity, and all through the country where he lived so long has many friends who will mourn his death and sympathize with his wife and children. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the family residence on East Kirkwood street.
