October 22d, 1845, and died at his home in Birmingham Feb. 11, 1912 at 3 p.m., aged 65 years, 3 months and 24 days. He came with his parents to Iowa in 1857 and settled in Birmingham, which has since been his home. He was united in marriage with Sarah Elizabeth Anderson in Birmingham, Jan. 2?th, 1871, who with three sons, Fred of Los Angeles, Cal., Charley of Long Beach, Cal., Jay of Omaha, Neb, and one daughter, Mrs. Rose Walters of Birmingham are left to mourn the loss of a kind indulgent father. One daughter, Lavina, died in infancy May 8th, 1875. Three of the children, two sons Fred and Jay and daughter Mrs. Walters were present with the mother at his death. He had been sick for several months, and was confined to his bed about five weeks with heart trouble. Samuel Deahl, his brother living west of town is the only one of the original Deahl family living and assisted in caring for him during his sickness. Funeral was from the Free Methodist church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Scalf and Behner conducting the services. Source: Van Buren Co.
