LANG HELD IN EMERSON Funeral services for George Lang were conducted at the Methodist Church in Emerson, Thursday by the Rev. R.V. Felt of the Red Oak Circuit, a former pastor of the Lang family in Emerson. He was assisted by Rev. J. E. England, pastor of the Emerson Methodist Chruch. Burial in the Emerson Cemetery. The following life sketch was read: George Edward Lang, the son of Charles and Gertrude Lang, was born at Emerson, June 12, 1915, and departed this life in Burlington on February 3, 1952 at the age of 35 years, 7 months, 22 days. The early years of his life were lived in Emerson where he attended the Emerson High School. He was united in marriage to Miss Nettie Moore of the Strahan Community on November 24, 1936. To this union nine Children were born to. He farmed near the Emerson and Grant communities for 6 years. He worked for the Burlington Railroad for 9 years as brakeman and baggage man. He has been in failing health for the last 8 months. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Nettie, nine children, five sons, Danny, Edward, Monty, Duane, and Richard; four daughters, Kay, Joyce, Linda, and Wileen; three sisters, Miss Nellie Lang of Nevada, Mrs. Lester Griffith of Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Alfred Anderson of Emerson. Many other relatives and a large circle of friends. Early in life he accepted Christ as his savior and united with the Methodist Church. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was a kind and loving husband and father.
