Boos were in charge of service. In charge of the flowers were John Hascall, Mr. and Mrs. Orrie Bentley, L. E. Brammeir, and Ivan Straight. W. V. Morrison served as usher. Casket bearers were George Huntsman, Harry Porter, Frank Durbin, R. L. Grayson, R. I. Fields, and Nels Larson. Music was furnished by Avis Taylor and Frederick Larson, accompanied buy Mrs. H. E. Greenwood. Nettie Gertrude Brown Lang was born April 23, 1885 near Logan, Iowa to George and Mary Jane Brown and passed away at her son’s home in Creston on February 4, 1947, at the age of 61 years, 9 months, 12 days. She united in marriage to Charles D. Lang on February 14, 1907 at Logan, returning to a farm south of Emerson where they resided for many years. To this union was born 6 children, two of whom died in infancy. Later they retired from the farm and moved to Emerson and eight years later moved back to the farm where her husband passed away February 4, 1931. She carried on with the farm until 1938, at which time she moved back to her home in Emerson, where she resided until her death. She was always thoughtful and helpful of others and great lover of flowers. Surviving are her 4 children, Helen Lang of Des Moines, Pearl Griffith of San Pedro, California, George of Creston, Iowa and Alice Anderson of Emerson. Five sisters, Mrs. Albert Fitch of Bellflower, California, Mrs. Clyde Harrod of Logan, Mrs. George Johnson of Concord, California, Mrs. Matha Casserley of Oakland, California, and Mrs. Lila Brown of Minneapolis, Minnesota; four brothers, George H. of Windor, California, Tom of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Irvie and John of Missouri Valley. 10 grandchildren and other relatives.
