Weeks was born March 16, 1885 near Hampton in Hamilton county, Nebraska to Albia and Vernie Inez Timblin Weeks and died at his farm home near Scotia in Greeley County, Nebraska February 5, 1982 at the age of 96. As a child, George moved with his family to several homesteads in Nebraska, Wyoming, Washington, and Canada. He was united in marriage to Mary Florence Beck February 28, 1929 at Scotia. They farmed and operated a thrashing machine in Central Nebraska. The had made their home northeast of Scotia for the past 33 years. George was a member of the United Methodist Church at Scotia for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Florence of Scotia; six sons, Luther, James and David, all of Scotia, Ethan of Algonquin, IL., Daniel of Grand Island, and Calvin of Springfield; one daughter Ellen Weeks of Scotia; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers, one sister, one half brother, and one half sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 9, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in Scotia. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia.
