He had been in failing health for several years, and was taken seriously ill Thursday. ---He was born in Kearney, Nebraska June 12, 1888, the son of George and Jennie (Cortright) Rising. Read More	Obituary Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Saturday, January 3, 1959 Homer George Rising ---George Rising, 70, died Friday afternoon at his home in Homer. He had been in failing health for several years, and was taken seriously ill Thursday. ---He was born in Kearney, Nebraska June 12, 1888, the son of George and Jennie (Cortright) Rising. On May 11, 1907 he married Miss Louise Hatch in Marshall. Mr. Rising was associated with the Cortright Mill here for 30 years, during which time he served as president of the board of directors of the mill for several years, and also manager of the mill for a number of years. ---Mr. and Mrs. Rising lived in Homer until 1914 when they moved to California where they spent 13 years, returning to Homer about a year ago. Mr. Rising was a member of the Woodman Lodge. ---Surviving besides his wife Louise are six daughters, Mrs. Helen Hawlsey of Cucamonga, California, Mrs. Wilford (Margaret) Lawrence of Homer, Mrs. Paul (Harriet) Roland of Marshall, Mrs. Stanley (Kathryn) Orwig of Marshall, Mrs. Don (Eva) Ambler of Homer and Mrs. Ivan (Elva) Fast, also of Homer; one son, Charles Rising of Warren, Arizona; one brother, Elmo Rising of Bronson; three sisters, Mrs. Howard Keyes of Bronson, Mrs. Vern Sweet of Homer and Mrs. Ernest Vetter of Joshua Tree, California; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, A. J.
