The deceased was married to Grant Ernst February 4, 1891, here in Humboldt. To this union were four children -- Annie May, Lee Roy and Walter William and one child died in infancy. The deceased leaves two brothers -- William and Charles Manion and a sister, Allie Ogden, who lives in Calif. Mrs. Ernst had been a great sufferer, but bore her affliction patiently and bravely. She leaves many friends beside her relatives who mourn her loss. Geo. Manion, brother of Mrs. Ernst, was born January 16, 1873 and died February 15, 1905, at St. Joe. He was married November 25, 1895, to Kate Gloecker of this city. Three children, two of whom are deceased, were born to this union. The surviving one, Lillie Evaline, is with her mother in this city. Until very late years Mr. Manion was a resident of this community. The real cause of death was from injuries received in Kansas City a few years ago. When the members of the Ernst family went to the telegraph office to wire the relatives of the approaching death of Mrs. Ernst, they received a telegram saying that Mr. Manion was at the point of death. It certainly was a strange but sad coincidence. A double funeral was held at the Christian church Friday, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Tanksley conducting the services. A very large gathering of friends was present to pay respects to the dead. Interment took place in Mount Hope cemetery.
