The deceased was prostrated by the heat while in the harvest field last Friday afternoon, and he had been ailing more or less since that time. On Sunday last he was quite ill, but on Monday morning he felt almost entirely recovered, and owing to the fact that some repairs were needed on his binder he drove to Tarnov to procure them, leaving home about eight o'clock a.m. He was expected home not later than 10 or 11 o'clock, and when he had not arrived at noon the family became worried and his son James was sent to ascertain his whereabouts. James found him at the old Jaixen place, almost unconscious. He had stopped here, thinking he was at home, and begged to be taken into the house saying that he believed he was going to die. John Jaixen got into the buggy with him and had just started with him when they met James, who drove him home as quickly as possible. Dr. Pugh was sent for, but before his arrival Mr. Thomazin was dead. The doctor pronounced it a clear case of deadly sunstroke. The deceased was born in Lincolnshire, England, April 2, 1856. He came to Illinois at the age of 10 years and moved to Nebraska 6 years later, and since then has lived in his present home in Burrows township, with the exception of the first few years in this conty when helived in Joliet township. Twenty-seven years ago February 22d last, Mr. Thomazin was married to Maria Burrows, the affectionate wife who survives to mourn his untimely demise. The mourning children of the deceased are his three daughers, Mrs. Jacob Volmar, of Illinois, Mrs. Thos. Hoare and Ethel Thomazin, and his four sons, George, James, Tom and Robert. all of whom are single and at home. Mr. Thomazin's family is a model one in every respect, sober, frugal and industrious, each member of that family enjoys the deserving esteem and respect of friends and neighbors. The deceased further leaves to mourn his loss, his aged mother, his sisters, Mrs. simon Burrows and Miss Lizzie thomazin, and his brothers Tom, Watson, John Robert and William, all of whom live in this county. Mr. Thomazin was well and popularly known in nearly all parts of the county. He was a faithful member of the Board of Supervisors for many years, and the people of Burrows Township always insisted that he accept one of the township offices. He was a kind husband and father, and as a friend he was selfsacrificing and true as steel. Mr. Thomazin was a prominent member and carried insurance in both the A.O.U.W. and Modern Woodmen lodges. These two lodges took charge of the funeral, which was held Tuesday evening at the home of the deceased. Impressive religious services were conducted by Rev. Schlosser of the Palestine Baptist church, after which the remains were interred in the Burrows cemetery beside his father who preceded him there some years ago.
