Description	:	THOMAS THOMAZIN -- Thomas Thomazin was born at Weston Hills, England, August 13, 1863 the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Roberts Thomazin. At the age of three years, he with his parents, two brothers and one sister come to the United States, settling in Cook County, Illinois, twenty-three miles north-west of Chicago. The family remained in Illinois until April, 1872 coming west to Columbus, Nebr., and settling on a farm twenty-five miles northwest of Columbus. Read More	THOMAS THOMAZIN -- Thomas Thomazin was born at Weston Hills, England, August 13, 1863 the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Roberts Thomazin. At the age of three years, he with his parents, two brothers and one sister come to the United States, settling in Cook County, Illinois, twenty-three miles north-west of Chicago. The family remained in Illinois until April, 1872 coming west to Columbus, Nebr., and settling on a farm twenty-five miles northwest of Columbus. On November 9, 1887, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Abbadusky of Fairview, Illinois. To this union were born Anna, Mrs. Clarence Pearson of Genoa; John of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; and Delbert of Albion. They lived on a farm in Platte County until 1907 when they moved to a farm northwest of Albion where they lived until 1916 when they retired to Albion where they lived until the death of Mrs. Thomazin, December 26, 1945. Since the death of Mrs. Thomazin, Mr. Thomazin has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Pearson near Genoa. In 1899, Mr. and Mrs. Thomazin united with the Palestine Baptist church being faithful workers until 1907 when they moved to Albion and thansferred [sic] their membership to the Albion Baptist church. Mr. Thomazin worked faithfully in the Albion church being a deacon and trustee for many years as well as holding other offices and responsibilities in the church. Mr. Thomazin passed away early Thursday morning, September 6th at the home of his daughter at the age of 93 years and 18 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Mrs. Pearson, two sons, John and Delbert, his sister, Mrs. A. H. Backus of Columbus, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren, besides a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with prayer service at Meyer Funeral Home at 1:45 and at two at the Albion Baptist church with burial at Evergreen Cemetery at St. Edward. Services were conducted by Rev. George Boyd with Rev. Earl Edmonds of Omaha, a friend of the family, bringing the message. Music was furnished by the Atwater Quartett [sic] with Mrs. Roger Nelson at the organ. Pallbearers were Dan Thomazin, John R Thomazin, Willis Stenzel, Vernon Pearson, Carrol Pearson and Donald Benson. [clipping of obituary from unknown newspaper and date, provided by Reggie Thompson]
