He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Thomazin was married to Frieda Albers October 23, 1907, and she died in 1951. He was married to Carrie Wallace Dec. 12, 1952. He farmed in Platte and Nance counties until 1952 when he moved to St. Edward. He was affiliated with the Presbyterian church. Mr. Thomazin's survivors include his wife, Carrie; two sons, Wilber of St. Edward and Glen of Shelby; three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Mildred) Werts of Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. Waldo (Lola) Iverson of Columbus and Mrs. Rudy (Cleo) Nauenberg of St. Edward; 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert, of Grinnell, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Hoare of Seneca, Missouri, and Mrs. Alvin (Ethel) Johnson of Balaton, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frieda; parents, two brothers and one sister; one son-in-law and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. from the Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Gene Boger officiated. Mrs. Neal hasselbalch and Mrs. Glenn Larson, accompanied by Mrs. Gordon Matzen, sang "Eventide" and "Through Love to Light". Pallbearers were Kenneth Thomazin, Leo Mahoney, Max Thomazin, Jim Thomazin, Pat Thomazin and Dave Moore. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery at Genoa. Attending from a distance were a daughter, Mrs. Martin Werts of Nampa, Idaho; a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. George Vollmer; a niece, Mrs. and Mrs. Louis Negley, all of Fairfiew, Illinois; a niece, Mr. and Mrs. alonzo Paige of Loup City; granddaughters, Mrs. DeeDee Davis of Omaha and Mrs. Kenneth Johnson; grandson, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thomazin of Columbus; great grandchildren, Chuckie and Roxanne Davis and Dave, Debbie and Dirk Moore of Omaha; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. William Lloyd and Mrs. William Blessen of Columbus, Mrs. and Mrs. Dave Parry of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Parry and Ed Ericson of Genoa; and many other relatives from Lindsay, Monroe, Genoa and St. Edward.
