James Albert Thomazin, second son of George and Marie Thomazin, was born at Monroe Nebraska, August 27, 1883 and passed away on Jan. 15, 1958, at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 19 days.
He grew to manhood in the Platte County vicinity. He graduated from the St. Edward High School. He farmed in Platte County until 1915 when he moved to Saunders County. In 1921 he and his family moved to Sherman County, where they resided until 1942 and then moved to Missouri where he made his home until death. While living in Loup City, the family were members of the Baptist church, but upon moving to Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Thomazin took their letters to the Waldo Presbyterian church of which they were members until death.
On October 3, 1910, he was united in marriage to Lois McCombs and to this union four children were born. His wife and one son, Keith, preceded him in death. His parents, two brothers and two sisters also preceded him. Surviving children are Mrs. Hazel Paige, Loup City; Mrs. LaVerna Hayes, Kansas City, Mo.; and Duane, Seneca, Mo. There are eight grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, George and Thomas, St. Edwards, Nebr.; Robert, Grinell, Iowa; Mrs. Fannie Hoare and Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Seneca, Mo., and a host of relatives and friends. Out of town relatives and friends coming here Friday and Saturday to attend funeral services for James Thomazin of Seneca, Mo., were Duane Thomazin, Seneca, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thomazin, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thomazin, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Thomazin, Mrs. Albert Jaswieck, Mrs. Martin Werts and Wilbur Thomazin, St. Edwards; Howard C. Vollmar and George Vollmar, Fairview, Ill.; Delryn Thomazin and son, George, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. John Reeg, Mrs. Fred Pearson and Edgar Thomazin, Genoa; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Thomas and Robert Evans, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. John Thomazin and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Paige, Grand Island. |
