George Walter Maschmann was Born Oct. 4, 1904 northeast of Victor in Iowa county. He was one of nine sons born to William and Caroline Rauch Maschmann. He was baptized Dec. 3, 1904 at St. John's Lutheran church, Lincoln township, and later was confirmed May 24, 1918 at St. James Lutheran church. He attended rural as well as Lutheran parochial school in Victor. On Sept. 14, 1929 he married Dassie Sims at St. James Lutheran church parsonage, Victor. Following their marriage the Maschmanns established their home northeast of Victor where he farmed until 1958 when they moved into Victor. He maintained an active interest in farming after moving to town. Maschmann is survived by his wife; one son, Edward, Victor; one daughter, Ruth Ann (Mrs. Bonnie) Williams, West Bend, Wis., and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers Emil, Bill, John, Henry, Fred, Carl, Louis and Ed.
