Description	:	George William Martin, 86, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, November 5, 2005, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant. Born March 16, 1919, in Henry County, he was the son of John and Catherine Ramey Martin. On February 26, 1938, he married Florence Pickle in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Martin was a life-long farmer and did plumbing, mechanical and electrical work for Walz General Store in Lowell. He attended Bethany Country School. He was of the Protestant faith. Read More	George William Martin, 86, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, November 5, 2005, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant. Born March 16, 1919, in Henry County, he was the son of John and Catherine Ramey Martin. On February 26, 1938, he married Florence Pickle in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Martin was a life-long farmer and did plumbing, mechanical and electrical work for Walz General Store in Lowell. He attended Bethany Country School. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Moose Club, the Farm Bureau, and was a board member of Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He enjoyed family gatherings, camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed baseball and played on the Lowell softball team. Survivors include his wife; two sons, George Carrell [Martin] and William Keith [Martin], both of New London; two daughters, Rosalee Cochran of Keota and Janice Aileen [Canaday] of Thornville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Martin will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverends Jerry Kelly and Jay Canaday officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
