Description	:	The mortal remains of one of Fairmont's former residents found a resting place in Farimont cemetery on Monday morning last, when the body of George W. Curtiss of Lincoln was brought here for interment. For ten years Mr. Curtiss was employed as rural mail carrier on route No. 2 out of Fairmont. Mr. Curtiss died at his home, 3245 North Fifty-third street, on Friday morning last, May 4, 1934, at the age of seventy-nine years. Accompanying the body here on Monday were his widow, Mrs. Anna Curtiss; her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Dedmore of Lincoln; her step-daughter, Mrs. Ruby Woodhams, of Julesburg, Colorado, and son, Ray Curtiss of Arthur, Nebr.; and John and Val Curtiss of Lincoln, nephews of the deceased; and also Mrs. W.C. Wells of Lincoln. There was a gathering of old Fairmont neighbors at the cemetery, and from Geneva. Funeral services had been held in Lincoln, Mr. Curtiss having been a member of Grace Methodist church there. At the graveside, the services of committal were conducted by Rev. J. Henry Stitt of Fairmont. Pallbearers for the last rites were John, Paul, and Val Curtiss, nephews of the deceased and Charles Woodhams, a grandson. George Curtiss was a rural carrier out of the Fairmont post office, when the editor of The Chronicle took charge in May, 1909. He was always faithful, honest and dependable.
