As a girl Lulu attended Franklin High School and Franklin Academy. November 24, 1909, Lulu was united in marriage to Roy S. Doher at Franklin, Nebraska. To this union three children were born. Her husband passed away June 26, 1942, and later on in years Lulu was united in marriage to Ira Everette Stenson. A member of the First Presbyterian Church at the time of her death, she was a member of the Presbyterian Womens Society. She was also an over 50 year member of the P.E.O. of Superior and was a retired telephone operator for the Lincoln Telephone Company. Lulu was a wonderful devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, one son, one brother and three sisters. Survivors are her husband, Everette of Superior; her son, Don Doher of Nelson; her daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Pat) Thayer of Nora; two step-sons, Willard Stenson of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Norman Stenson of Hardy; a step-daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Lewis of Hiawatha, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Monday, August 20, 1979, at 10 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Pastor Lynn Davis officiated. Pallbearers were Stanley Doher, Robert Doher, Sidney Doher, Kent Stenson, Mark Stenson, Michael Thayer, Richard Thayer, Kim Stenson and Lee Stenson. "How Great Thou Art: was played by organist, Glenda Thayer. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Arrangements were by Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior.
