Mrs. Korte was the widow of George Korte, who practiced law in Carroll before the family moved to Seattle. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. (Barney) Drees, Carroll, and the last of their family. August 23, 1957 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Korte of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Carroll, will be at 9 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul's Church here. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Twit Funeral chapel, starting Saturday noon. Rosary recitation will be at 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Frank H. Greteman leading Sunday night. Mrs. Korte's son, Gregory Korte, will arrive here from Waldwick, N.J., Saturday. Mrs. Korte, 79, was the widow of George Korte, who had practiced law in Carroll before the family moved to Seattle. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. (Barney) Drees, Carroll pioneers. August 26, 1957 - Carroll Daily Times - Final rites were held at 9 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul's Church for Mrs. Gertrude Korte, 79, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Carroll, who died August 16. The Rev. Robert Kirschbaum offered the requiem mass and gave the sermon. He also officiated at graveside rites in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. L.J. Drees, L.J. Rohner, Joseph A. Rohner, Joe Roth, John Mattes and Nick Mueller. Mrs. Korte was the widow of George W. Korte, an attorney, who practiced law here with the late Judge B.I. Salinger before the family left Carroll about 50 years ago to reside in the west. Mrs. Korte was the former Gertrude Drees, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. Drees Carroll pioneers. Surviving are one son, Gregory Korte of Waldwick, N.J., and four grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Korte arrived here Saturday to attend the funeral rites. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Korte was preceded death by two sons, Norbert and Guido, a daughter, Gertrude; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Glarum and Mrs. Anthony (Pearl) James, and one brother, Frank Drees.
