Description	:	Gladys C. Shockley, 98, Atchison, died Sunday, June 2,1996, at Cray Senior Manor. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Chapel with Duane Horton, minister of the Cummings Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Suncet Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to Alpha Christian Children's Home, Perry, and may be sent in care of the funeral home. She attended No. 40 Grade School, Cumings, and graduated from Atchison County Community High School, Effingham. Mrs. Shockley was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Atchison. She was a former member of the Eastern Star at Atchison, Potter, Easton, and Nortonville. She married Delbert E. Shockley on Feb. 4, 1920, in Atchison. They lived in the Atchison area until 1971 when they moved to Nortonville. They moved back to Atchison in 1991. He died Aug. 23, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. She enjoyed painting, quilting, gardening, making wedding cakes and traveling. Survivors include a son, Robert Shockley, Atchison; two daughters,Jean Beien, Cummings,and Dorthy Heffelfinger,McLean, Va; a sister, Margaret Stillings, Atchison; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
