Description	:	Gladys I. Clark, 91, of Monticello, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. Born March 23, 1917, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Weaver Barnes. She graduated from Monticello High School. Her marriage was to Everett Clark on Aug. 9, 1936, in Monticello. He died in June 2006. Mrs. Clark was a cashier at Kroger and also worked in the meat department and assisted in the office. Born March 23, 1917, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Weaver Barnes. She graduated from Monticello High School. Her marriage was to Everett Clark on Aug. 9, 1936, in Monticello. He died in June 2006. Mrs. Clark was a cashier at Kroger and also worked in the meat department and assisted in the office. She also worked for Clark and Moore and was co-founder of the Clark and Moore Packing Co., where she and her husband later became sole owners. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and local home economics clubs and a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and flowers. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Brown (husband: Jim), and a brother, Robert Barnes (wife: Imogene "Gene"), both of Monticello. A grandson, Mark Dame (wife: Holly) of Bloomington, great-grandchild, Abigail Dame, survive. She was preceded in death by brothers, Henry and Oliver Barnes, and a sister, Sarah.
