Read More	Glenn Boyce Baumgardner August 25, 1942 - March 24, 2018 Glenn Boyce Baumgardner, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Cottonwood Falls on March 24, 2018. He was the husband of Connie J. Woodworth Baumgardner. They have been married 37 years. Boyce was born on August 25, 1942, in Emporia, KS to Glenn M. Baumgardner and Ethel Maria Dawson Baumgardner. He graduated from Elmdale High School in 1960 and KS State Teachers’ College in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He resided in Marion, KS until 1973 where he worked in the banking industry. He moved to Center, CO and continued his banking career until 1983. Boyce spent the next three years as athletic director and head basketball coach at Center High School. Boyce moved his family to Emporia in 1987 where he began his career at Emporia State University. He retired in 2007 from the Emporia State University Foundation as the Executive Director for University Advancement. Boyce was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and a member of the Arab Shrine and Scottish Rite Bodies of Free Masonry. Boyce was mayor of Cottonwood Falls, KS. He had a vision for his community that would attract people from all over the United States. His mission as mayor was to make Cottonwood Falls a better place for everyone that visited and resided in the community. Boyce was best known for saying, “Lucky to Live Here”. He and Connie loved to ride their Harley motorcycle, taking many day trips and extended vacations throughout the United States. He is survived by his wife Connie J. of the home, Wendy and Mark Morris of Olathe, Brett and Becky Baumgardner of Emporia, Wendy and Darren Carter of Wichita, 8 grandsons and 1 great-grandson, and his mother, Maria Baumgardner of Cottonwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn M. Baumgardner. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Pavilion at The Clover Cliff Ranch in Elmdale, KS with internment at the Elmdale Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hand in Hand Hospice, City of Cottonwood Falls-Boyce Baumgardner Chase Disc Golf Memorial Fund, or the Shriners Hospital for Children can be sent in care of the funeral home.
