Description	:	Last rites for Glenn O. Westrum, were held in the local Baptist, church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Paul Anderson. An earlier service was held at the Dahlstrom Funeral home in Des Moines at 11 o'clock. At the local service the Rev. Mr. Anderson used for his text title, "What is Your Life?" using words found in James 4:14: "For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." The singers were Mrs. Everett Bergman and Mrs. Oscar Borg who sang "In the Garden" and " Have Thine Own Way Lord," with Miss Deloris Erickson playing the accompaniments. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. The casket bearers included Marvin Westrum, Eldon Westrum, Clifford Neese, and Chester Carlson. Glenn C. Westrum, son of Olof and Christine Westrum, was born near Stratford, Feb. 10, 1908 and died in the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, Dec. 19, 1944, after a six week illness. He was 36 years, 10 months, 9 days old. He was baptized and united with the local Baptist church in May, 1921 and remained a member until his death. On June 12, 1928, he was united in marriage with Miss Henrietta Neese and their union was blessed with five children; Genevieve, who died at birth, Durl, Nola, Donald and Jane. Surviving are his wife and four children, his aged father, and three sisters; Mrs. Esther Biersner of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Herman Long of Highview and Miss Velva at home. A large number of relatives also mourn his death. The sympathy of this community is extended to his bereaved wife and children, his father and sisters. His entire life had been spent in this community until three years ago when the family moved to Lorimor.
