Description	:	Gloria (Gregoire) Maisch was the daughter of Ernest and Ida Gregoire. Gloria was born in Vermillion, S.D., on Sept. 12, 1937. She passed away at Edmond, Okla, on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. Gloria helped start ESA's Holiday Tour of Homes,... Read More	Gloria (Gregoire) Maisch was the daughter of Ernest and Ida Gregoire. Gloria was born in Vermillion, S.D., on Sept. 12, 1937. She passed away at Edmond, Okla, on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. A celebration of life will take place in the Spring. Gloria will be laid to rest next to her parents, her husband and her sister at Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion, S.D.. Gloria was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a women's sorority, for more than 20 years. She served as president of both state and local chapters. Gloria helped start ESA's Holiday Tour of Homes, an annual fundraiser that raised money for organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation and St. Jude's Hospital. Gloria attended several churches in Grand Island throughout her life. While a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she coordinated Meals-on-Wheels deliveries for dozens of elderly residents on Thanksgiving for many years. At the time of her death, she was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Gloria was an avid walker and Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. She enjoyed eating popcorn and playing a variety of card games, including pitch, pinochle and cribbage. Gloria also loved watching the sandhill cranes during their annual stop along the Platte River. Gloria suffered a major stroke shortly before her 75th birthday. Despite the onset of vascular dementia and the loss of the use of her left arm and leg, the stroke never stole her sense of humor, her kindness, or her faith. Before her stroke in 2012, Gloria was fond of driving to see friends and family, the back seat of her car full of snacks for the trip. Gloria departed on one final journey on Nov. 19, no longer confined to a wheelchair or bed. She went to her Heavenly home. Gloria is preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister, Ilene (Gregoire) Holmes; two brothers, Ellsworth and Lowell Gregoire, and her husband, Gorden. Gloria is survived by her brother, Ernest Gregoire Jr; her daughters, Ann Maisch and Lori Maisch; her son, John Maisch; her daughter-in-law, Julia; and her grandson, Jacoby.
