Description	:	Gordon McKee, one of three children of John Knox and Lottie Frances (Touzalin) McKee, was born on a farm near Superior on March 10, 1915. He passed away on April 11, 2008 in Beatrice, Nebraska at the age of 93 years. He remained in the community until a brief time before his death. Read More	Gordon McKee, one of three children of John Knox and Lottie Frances (Touzalin) McKee, was born on a farm near Superior on March 10, 1915. He passed away on April 11, 2008 in Beatrice, Nebraska at the age of 93 years. He remained in the community until a brief time before his death. On June 28, 1941, he was united in marriage to Gladys Lucile Crook, and to this union, two children were born: Linda Jean and Gordon Scott. Gordon was in the livestock business and worked with his father in the business and worked with his father in the McKee Sale Company, which he then purchased and continued to operate for a number of years. Gordon was a World War II veteran, entering the army on June 30, 1941. He served in the third armored division (Battery B, Field Artillery) in Europe and was involved in heavy fighting on that front until he was discharged and returned home September 27, 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal, the Purple Heart medal and Good conduct medal. He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucile after over 60 years of marriage,daughter-in-law, Kimberly McKee, son-in-law, Donald Diehl; and granddaughter Erica McKee. He is survived by his daughter Linda Diehl of Blue Springs,Nebraska, son, Scott McKee of Superior, Nebraska, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one sister Beth Brake and husband Bill of Granbury, Texas and one brother Delber McKee and wife Margaret of Pennsylvania along with a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with David Sherwood officiating. Music was Bette Midler recording of "Wind Beneath My Wings," and the "Auctioneer Song" sung by Jon Bruning. Pallbearers were Brian Diehl, Andrew Diehl, David Diehl, Steve Diehl, Kim Delka, Craten McKee and Mick White. Honorary Pallbearers were Galen Koester, Dale Adcock, Don Hartley, Gale Mikkelsen, J.C. Chance and Richard Drudik. Interment with Full Military Rites was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior,Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
