Description	:	Fort Scott Tribune, December 20, 1976 Grace E. Russell, 85 a long time resident of Redfield, died at the Golden Age Lodge, at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, December 18. She had been in failing helath for some time. She was born in Pattonsburg, Mo., June 29, 1891, the daughter of Siegel and Effie M. Burris McKinnis. On Nov. 18, 1908, she married Will Russell in Fort Scott. Mr. Russell preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1965. Mrs. Russell was a member of the Mt. Orum Baptist Church. She was born in Pattonsburg, Mo., June 29, 1891, the daughter of Siegel and Effie M. Burris McKinnis. On Nov. 18, 1908, she married Will Russell in Fort Scott. Mr. Russell preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1965. Mrs. Russell was a member of the Mt. Orum Baptist Church. She served as a Bourbon County Democratic committee woman until her health failed. She took charge of the Redfield Post Office March 1, 1943, and was appointed acting postmaster on March 23, 1943. She served in this capacity until Jan. 8, 1944, then continued to assist in the post office four more years. She then took a position as secretary with the M. A. Turner Insurance Agency, and remained an employee until the office closed. A son, Delbert Lee Russell, preceded her in death May 19, 1936. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Todd, Redfield, and Mrs. Clarence (Ida Louise) Meyer, Ft. Scott; four sisters, Mrs. Flora Chandler, Mrs. Hazel Underwood, Mrs. Ruth Smith and Mrs. Rosa Holt, all of Uniontown; 2 brothers, James K. McKinnis of Walsh, Colo., and Harvey McKinnis of Springfield, Colo.; two grandsons and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Orum Baptist Church with Rev. W. B. Wiggans and Rev. Ray Nitcher officiating. Interment will be in the Uniontown Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the memorial fund at the Mt. Orum Baptist Church.
