Philip Biblehimer of Fremont conducted the servcies. Pallbearers were Bart Anderson, Jake DeLaurant, Frank Stoffel, Carl Coe, Gus Rother and Joe Steenson. Obituary - Grant Lowe was born in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, October 8, 1868, and died in Grand Island, Nebraska at the St. Francis Hospital, April 4, 1951, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 26 days. He was married to Helen Severson in the year 1905, October 15th at Wolbach. Three children, Bradford, Roy and Bertha preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Helen, three daughters, Cora Gjerman of Portland, Oregon, Maxine Gross of Pueblo, Colorado, and Doris Glenn of Wolbach, and two sons, Ernie and Eddie, both of Wolbach, one brother, Colfax, of Baltimore, Maryland, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was one of the early pioneers of Nebraska, coming from Pennsylvania in the year 1886. He made his home with his brother, the late John M. Lowe and family, on Timber Creek, until he established his own home later. He was one of the early pioneer mail carriers and was caught out in the blizzard of 1888 while performing this duty. Most of his life was spent in the occupation of farming in this vicinity until he retired and moved with his family to Wolbach in the spring of 1945. In the early days and in later years he was never too busy to help assist where he was needed. He was a devoted husband and a kind father and he will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and many friends. In his childhood he became a Christian, uniting with the Friend or Quaker Church and in later years was an attendant of the Lutheran Church of Wolbach.
