Keinath, a bachelor of 40 years, and Mrs. Lula Dutton, a widow of 28 years with three children, stole a march on their friends at Dunlap on Buffalo Bill day by coming to Emporia and being married. They went home on the evening train and have since kept their marriage a secret. ******************************************** The Emporia Gazette, 11 Apri 1932, Monday DEATHS AND FUNERALS G. A. KEINATH DIES G. A. Keinath, 74, a retired building contractor, died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning at his home, Fifteenth and Prairie. Mr. Keinath had been sick three months. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue chapel. Rev. George Mitchell, pastor of the First Congregational church, of which Mr. Keinath was a member, will conduct the services and interment will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Gustave Adolf Keintathe (sic) was born December 17, 1857, near Cincinnati. He came to Kansas in 1872 and lived in Morris county until the family moved to Emporia in 1911. Mr. Keinath was married to Lura Dutton, September 17, 1898, at Emporia. Mr. Keinath was a contractor and builder at Emporia for 20 years. He built many of the houses in the northwest part of town, especially in the Pepville section. He also erected several small business buildings, including that of the Humphrey bakery. His three sons were in the contracting business with him most of the time. Mr. Keinath is survived by Mrs. Keinath; six children, Gail A. Keinath, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. W. H. Robertson, of Eskridge; Frank E. Keinath, of Riverside, Calif.; Robert E. Dutton, of Emporia; Muriel E. Dutton, of Kansas City, and Thelma M. Dutton, of Emporia, and three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Fay, of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. William Wilkerson and Mrs. Lewis Bowan, of Dwight. Another son, Harold Keinath, died in infancy.
