She was a 1918 graduate of Brooklyn High School. She also attended Drake University, Iowa Normal School in Cedar Falls and a business college in Cedar Rapids. She had taught in rural schools. She was married to Willis McKinley Ryan Feb. 14, 1923, in rural Brooklyn. They were divorced in 1925 and remarried Jan. 30, 1932, in Galena, Ill. They moved to the Iowa Veterans Home in August 1982. Mrs. Ryan was a member of the DAR in Grinnell and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Brooklyn. She is survived by one son, Willis of Centerville, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Harriet McGregor of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
