Raper, was born near Pawnee City, Nebr., Jan. 4, 1880, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ted Decker, in Newton, Iowa, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 22 days. Raper, was born near Pawnee City, Nebr., Jan. 4, 1880, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ted Decker, in Newton, Iowa, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 22 days. Her mother was taken from the home when she was six years old and her father died in 1914. Her girlhood days were spent on a farm near Pawnee City, where she attended school. At the age of 13 she united with the Christian church and the religion she embraced in youth sustained and comforted her through years of great physical suffering, and at the end she quietly fell asleep, to awaken in the home not made with hands. Nov. 23, 1898, she was united in marriage with George Smith Bennett, and to this union were born five children, two whom preceded her to death. Oct. 3, 1941, the father was taken from the home. In 1913 the family moved to College Springs, Iowa, and her membership was transferred to the Methodist church there. During her entire life she was active in church work, being especially interested in the young, always willing and anxious to help in any good work, wherever the need was greatest. About six years ago her health began to fail, but ever mindful of others, she continued to lend a hand where occasion called for it. Her thoughts were for others, rather than herself. There was never a word of complaint, no matter how hard the cares of life pressed. Her unselfish life and her faith in her Lord and teachings will remain a precious memory to her loved ones and her many friends. She was a true wife and a loving mother. Mourning her passing are a daughter, Mrs. Ted Decker; a son, George Bennett of Newton, Iowa; Charles of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, her step-mother, two half-brothers and two half-sisters, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in College Springs Monday at 10:30, in the Methodist church, after which the body was brought to Pawnee City. At 3:00 in the Christian church Rev. E. E. Smith of the local church, assisted by Rev. A. T. Hanson, her pastor in College Springs, conducted a final service. Music was furnished by Mrs. K. S. Wherry and Mrs. F. H. Barclay, with Miss Geraldine Anderson at the piano. Interment was in the family lot beside her husband and two children. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. Ted Decker and family and Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett and family of Newton, Iowa, Charles Bennett of Denver, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Hare and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hare of Rockford, Ill., Andy Raper and Mrs. Tom Finnerty of Lincoln, Mrs. Roy Miller of Ogallala, Mrs. J. C. Raper and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Raper and family of Burchard, James Bolton, Roy Bolton and Mrs. Otis Tomlinson of Smith Center, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. John Shafer of Liberty, and Rev. and Mrs. A. T.
