Description	:	Daughter of Joseph Dodd (b. 1803 Penn,) and Phoebe Leonard (b. 1808), Hannah Jane Dodd was born in late 1830 or early 1831. Her mother died in late April of 1832, shortly after Hannah Jane's younger sister Mary Shedd Dodd was born. Hannah Jane married Henry Weir on April 18, 1848 in Gratiot, Lafayette County, Wisconsin. Soon after their marriage, Hannah Jane and Henry Weir moved to Allamakee County, Iowa along with most of Hannah Jane's family. All of their known children were born in Allamakee County, Iowa. Henry Weir was an immigrant, born in Ireland about 1822. His naturalization papers were filed March 28, 1856 at Waukon, Allamakee County, Iowa. In the 1860 and 1870 Census Hannah Jane and Henry Weir and their children were living in Taylor Twp, Allamakee Cnty, Iowa, where their Post Office was Waterville in 1860 and Harpers Ferry, Iowa in 1870. In the 1880 and 1885 Census they were living in Lansing Twp, Allamakee Cnty, Iowa. Soon after 1885 the family moved to Mendon Twp, Clayton Cnty, Iowa, living near McGregor. In the 1900 Census Hannah Jane (Dodd) Weir stated that she had borne 10 children, of whom eight were still living. This means that son Rufus Weir b. about 1861 and age 18 in 1880, died before 1900; and that daughter Sarah Weir b. about 1856 (married Stephen Molender in 1877) died before 1900. Hannah Jane (Dodd) Weir in 1900 was living with David and Anna Weir in rural Mendon Township, near McGregor, Iowa, where she died in 1901 and was buried at McGregor.
